Emily was 6 when her parents introduced her to MUZZY French. “One of the best things about MUZZY is the songs,” she says now. “You never forget the lyrics to your favorite songs. I started studying French in middle school and added Spanish in high school. Once you speak one language, adding another is not a big deal. I lived with a French family one summer and they didn’t speak a word of English. I did fine.
“I was a biology major in college so I took a lot of science classes,” Emily says. “But I did take French, and I try to use my languages any chance I get. At a university, you meet people from all over the world. Knowing how to speak with people in their native language breaks down the barriers. I have traveled in Europe and South America, and it’s a lot easier when you can speak to the locals.” |
