“I want to tell you about my little girl, Sara,” wrote her mother, Virginia. “She is another MUZZY success story. Eight days after we started watching MUZZY Spanish, my 2-year-old began speaking Spanish.”
“We were at a Memorial Day cookout when I told her she couldn’t climb a playground ladder while holding a brownie. She put the brownie on a table, arched her eyebrows at me and said, ‘No me gustan.’ Then she ran to the slide and tried to stop all the other kids from climbing by shouting, ‘Para! Para!’ at them. Later, she closed up all the windows and doors to a playhouse, telling everyone, “buenas noches.’”
“My 2-year-old’s Spanish started like a switch being turned on,” her mother said. “One day, she spoke English-only, the next day, she was bilingual wit! My husband is West African – Nigerian - so his cradle tongue is Euroben. Now that she is speaking so much Spanish, my husband is using his own language with her more. I’ve told people that it’s just amazing what children can learn and use if you start them early on other languages.”
